at the moment there's not much content, but you could use 
del.icio.us' new filetype tags:

http://del.icio.us/tag/system:media:video+nature or
http://del.icio.us/tag/system:filetype:mp3

you can get the data also in RSS format like:

http://del.icio.us/rss/tag/system:media:video+nature

re:quantity of content - if there's a potential user base you could 
encourage users to bookmark media files with a "r.o.m" tag to which 
your application could subscribe to, e.g.:

http://del.icio.us/rss/tag/r.o.m

that way the project content could be "directed" by the 
users/viewers. obviously you'll lose any control over content or 
narritive (if there's any), but it'd make for a nice, socially 
created and related art project.

btw. speaking of it, in less than 15hours the european software 
patent situation will be decided! if you haven't done so yet, please 
do your bit to not let it happen and sign the petition to protect 
europe from that disaster! if the proposed directive is approved, 
it'll negatively influence potentially a lot of our own art/work!
