3. Fractal Contest - Win an iPod Shuffle or a Sony PlayStation Portable!
Create a generator program in your favorite language that can quickly 
produce a Mandelbrot fractal. The three eligible language groups 
include 1) Perl/Python/PHP/Common LISP, 2) C/C++, and 3) Java/C#/VB 
.NET. Apress will award up to three (3) prizes, one per language group. 
The creator of the overall fastest fractal maker from any of the 
qualifying language groups will win the grand prize: a Sony PSP. And 
the creators of the next-fastest fractal generators in the other two 
remaining language groups will each win an iPod Shuffle.
The contest runs now through Wednesday, August 31, 2005. Judging will 
be completed by September 15, 2005.
