just as a side note: in 1998 i worked for a company where an entire 
website (http://www.vexed.co.uk) would degenerate, based on the 
amount of time a user remained on individual pages. the less time 
spent on each page, the more content (incl. navigation) would be 
removed on the next one. so if you'd just point and click without 
reading anything you ended up with an empty black screen in no time. 
even the back button wouldn't help... ;)
