Yes, they did encourage us to join, of course. We did not contact the 
ADAMI nor SDRM (other copyright management societies...), because we 
only needed SACEM's seal so that the CD-Rom duplication factory 
accepted to duplicate the CD. That was our goal, so we stopped our 
investigations when we got the SACEM's seal.
About your "recorded" point, our generative music was generated from 
recorded (though short) samples. Maybe that's why the SACEM thought 
that they were competent...

Anyway, very interesting issue, and I would love to read the result 
of your investigations.
