I guess those citations from Rowe, Lippe and Winkler would answer the
question, I'll look them up next time I'm in the library and let you
know what I find out.

The use of the word "interactive" is odd.  Surely if something is
interactive, it has inputs?  That said, I was talking to an AI guru a
few months ago who said that in strict terms, no-one has managed to make
a computer program that is truly interactive.  I've been pondering upon
this ever since.
