Dear all,

May I remind you that  there are many ways of using "surprise"  
numbers in art or music. One many use probability distributions,  
Markov's chains etc. My own music is based on pictures, no random  
numbers as such is used. Could we paradoxically perhaps speak about   
"structured random numbers"? The notes modern composers are writing  
down are many times just  such  "structured random notes" based on  
some rule sets.
